CAB Hosts Sexual Assault Awareness Walk

On Sunday, September 3rd, over Labor Day weekend,  the Campus Activities Board hosted a Sexual Assault Awareness walk at 4 p.m. The walk started at the DSU circle, with over 30 participants.

CAB hosted this walk as a first step to a much larger initiative. Elijah Brown, CAB President, said “ We recognize that sexual assault is a common problem at colleges across the nation. We want to let students at our university know that we are here not only to host fun activities but also advocate on behalf of the student body”

The walk started at DSU Circle. The CAB representatives distributed water bottles to participants and shared resources related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and other related problems. Students and staff Participants gave  positive feedback during and after the walk. 

“I came out today because I stand against sexual assault and domestic violence. These are the types of events we need as a University to spread awareness,” said Tamia Johnson, a student participant in the walk. 

Campus Activities Board (CAB) is a student lead organization. Elijah Brown serves as 2023-2024 president and Quaseem LaRue as 2023- 2024 vice president. CAB handles all school events such as homecoming, spring fling, career fais, amd much more.
