Dover, DE – Saturday, August 19th, 2023, Umbrella members participated in “Dinner with 12
Strangers,” where different members were paired with one to two alumni members to discuss
many different topics.

It was an honor for all members of The umbrella attending as this was the first time this had been
done with any of the student governments prior to our current administration.

Being a student leader comes with so many unforeseen things that are not highlighted in the
initial running process.

Leah Williams, DSU Alumni Association President, speaks on her time here at Delaware State
before graduating in 2013.

“I was a member of the DSU Marching Band, ‘Approaching Storm,’ where I played nine
different instruments.”

The umbrella had their own experiences with
their designated alumni member(s).

Overall, the experience was one to remember as
we all walked away with some new insight from
our alumni members.
