Sunday September 3rd, 2023 the Approaching Storm Marching Band of DSU performed on the Rehoboth beach Boardwalk. 

The performance is sponsored by the Sussex county DSU Alumni Association. 

“The students enjoy this opportunity because of the family atmosphere that presents itself during our two-hour performance.” said Sidney Sessoms, Director of Bands at Delaware State University. The Approaching Storm played a variety of songs ranging from Stand By Me by Ben E. King to Just Wanna Rock by Lil Uzi Vert.

The band spent the day at the beach and boardwalk before the performance, thanks to the DSU Alumni Association. “A wonderful way to end band camp, and for the students to further bond.”, said Sessoms about the trip. 

“It was a very fun experience, because it gave me exposure to playing in front of a large audience.”, said Michael Rivers, a snare drum player in the band.
