DSU Student Voice Actors Wanted for Blain Hawk Western Trilogy

Tamia Gregory

On Saturday, February 18, 2023 students at Delaware State University are encouraged to audition for the opportunity to make their debuts as voice actors on the university’s online student-led station, DESU Radio for the serialization of Lloyd Wheatley’s smash hit western series titled “Blain Hawk US Marshal.”

Auditions for the show’s voice acting roles will be held in the Education and Humanities building, in the music studio on the first floor on Saturday, February 18, 1 – 5 pm.

Lloyd Wheatley has seen great success in the wake of Blain Hawk’s releases and has decided to make the most of it by cultivating the talent present on DSU’s campus. Written in 2012 and with nearly 100,000 copies sold worldwide, Blain Hawk US Marshal (The Complete Trilogy) is set in 1800s Oklahoma and serves as a dramatic tribute to the Black and Native marshals who worked in America’s initial reconstruction era. Customers who have purchased and read the trilogy have “found [the book] hard to put down,” and claim that “this trilogy is a must-read!”

Wheatley will be involving students in the process of serializing the trilogy into a radio show while offering them the opportunity to experience every aspect of producing a project of this nature. When asked to share his thoughts on the upcoming venture, Wheatley remarked “I’m really excited about working with the students and bringing my project to life.”

For more information, students should report to the Education and Humanities building ahead of the auditions’ scheduled time, as that period prior will serve as an information session for those who wish to express interest in participation.

This project is not limited to the Mass Communications department – all disciplines are welcome.
