DSU “Empower” Hosts its 1st Annual Bake Sale

DOVER DEL: Delaware State University’s Empower hosted their 1st annual bake sale, in the Martin Luther King Center on September 12th – 16th from 10am – 3pm. 

Organized by Kala Games, Taraya Dwight, and Bisola Bello, the bake sale is to bring awareness to the actual organization itself. DSU Empower is a women empowerment org that focuses on women’s health, education, and charities. 

Students were in attendance and stopped by to learn more about Empower. Leah Billinger, a student here at Delaware State University, stated “Empower is a new organization on campus and I believe their standpoint on how to uplift women is what caused them to have such a great outcome on the bake sale.”

Taraya Dwight the corresponding secretary for Empower, stated “I think Empower is a great org, because I’ve found friends that I know I will be friends with for a long time, and they’re always lifting me up.” 

DSU Empower is female oriented but also accepts men, so that they can be a part of women education and women’s issues. They have many volunteering events for men and women who would like to join. To check that out and more visit there Instagram page at dsu_empower.
