Delaware State’s Homecoming is Back!

Delaware State’s annual homecoming party was back this past weekend after being skipped the previous year due to the pandemic. It came back better than ever as this was some student’s first homecoming since they did not get to experience one last year. Last Saturday’s homecoming party did not disappoint.

The day started with a bang as the homecoming began. Delaware State’s step dance team, fraternities, and sororities all came out to show their school spirit. Then the day hit a rough patch as the Hornets lost their homecoming game to South Carolina State 13-7. But it only got better from there with tents and food trucks set up on the outdoor basketball courts in front of the Martin Luther King student center. Things were set up to be a day filled with food, music, and fun.

So, as day turned into evening, things only got better as the homecoming party on the courts slowly transitioned to a party on the fraternity and sorority plots. Of course there was more food, more music ,and more fun but now there’s the addition of all the fraternities each doing their own thing.

Almost every form of Greek life was in attendance , such as:

Everybody was playing music; the fraternities were strolling; people were taking pictures and video and making memories. All these were missed last year.

Saturday was just a big family party with students, alumni, family, and friends all coming to celebrate the homecoming of one of the best HBCU’s in the country.
