Sherman Gay

According to Inside Higher ED, Delaware State University becomes the first Historical Black College to acquire another college. The acquisition is set to be finalized the summer of 2021.

DSU’s President, Tony Allen

Wesley College had a little over one thousand students.  It seems that Current Wesley college students will be admitted into Delaware State University. Both parties seemed to be very excited about the new opportunity. When students from Wesley College were asked about the DSU acquisition, some were just as optimistic.

“Maybe with Wesley becoming DSU, they can enforce a better security system,” Mondelus said. “I hate how Wesley is open to the public. That’s one reason why I did not come to Wesley.

“Wesley College has been struggling financially for years,” Da’vonne Duncan, a former Wesley student who transferred to DSU, said.

The future seems to be bright for both organizations. With Covid-19 disrupting things for society, especially financially, Delaware State’s acquisition of Wesley College is a positive development.
