Senior Blayne Bell was asked how she felt about the spring season beginning so soon, only two weeks after the spring semester had started. “After the fall season, our team was really excited for spring season because we had done so well in the fall,” Bell stated. Adding that “we’re ready to travel and be on the road again. It really gives us the headspace we need in order to be on our game.” Bell is a seasoned Western Horsemanship rider for DSU Equestrian.

Speaking to the team, the energy about getting ready to be back on the road would make anyone excited. Junior Kasi Duke stated: “It’s my first year on the team and I love preparing for these travel meets. The energy is great and everyone is excited to be able to go compete again.” She also stated that “the patterns we are riding are a lot of fun and are going to be able to give our girls a lot of places to show off their skills.” Duke is a University of Delaware transfer who rides on the Jumping Seat team.
The Lady Hornets leave Wednesday, January 29 and will compete at TCU’s Equestrian Center January 30. Tune in to their live updates on Instagram @DSU_Eq on Twitter @DSUEquestrian and on Facebook @ Delaware State University Equestrian Team to follow their success.
