Hornet: Can we get to meet the man behind the face of The ALPHA Podcast? Where were you born and raised, what was your upbringing like?

Alpha: I was actually born in Harlem, NY then moved to the Bronx. I was raised in a two- parent household with my siblings. We were a middle-class hardworking family, that worked for everything we had. We also lived in a very cultural African household with tons of support and love.

Hornet: Who has been the greatest influence in your life that has impacted the man you are today?

Alpha: My grandmother is my greatest influence. She made me who I am today. She basically raised me and taught me everything I know. I even followed after her when my parents were Christians and I wanted to become a Muslim. I looked up to her, she was the main reason for me converting.

Hornet: What about your family?

Alpha: My family is very vibrant. We are all family oriented, but everyone is very busy individually.

Hornet: Can you tell us of your education history and what your goals or life ambition was when you were a student in high school/ College?

Alpha: My goal was to be an entertainer. I used to act in high school and just entertain people. I also used to rap, but I stopped because I rather talk about Hip-Hop, rather than be a rapper.

Hornet: Is this where you thought you’d be 5 or so years ago? What informed your decision on doing what you’re doing now?

Alpha: I am a pod-caster now at Delaware State University. I never thought I would be doing this, but I always knew I wanted to be in the entertainment business. I love talking to people and learning about people’s life story. I decided to do what I do because I felt it was better talking about rap than doing it.

Hornet: What are your plans for the future?

Alpha: My plan for the future is to be a Radio Personality. I have my own podcast right now and I hope to make it grow bigger and hire people to help it grow. I would also love to work for Power 105.1.IMG_1982.PNG

Hornet: What kind of advice would you offer a student, who is undecided on his or her career path?

Alpha: I would say do many things so you can find your niche. If you never try, you’ll never know, and you don’t want any regrets.

Hornet: Have you ever traveled outside of the United States? Where, and how does life outside compare to that in the US?

Alpha: I went to Africa when I was around 10 years old. It was such a culture shock seeing how people were living because I was born and raised in New York. So, seeing people living in that type of environment where my parents grew up, it was cool. I loved the experience so much though and I was heavily accepted.

Hornet: What are your hobbies or extracurricular activities? How would you describe your philosophy of life? That is, how do you see this life and what principles get you grounded and moving forward?

Alpha: My hobbies while I am in New York is styling people in SoHo. I always loved to dress, so on my free time I like to just go shopping. I also like to read a lot and learn new things about people, so I read memoirs.

Hornet: How would you describe your philosophy of life? That is, how do you see this life and what principles get you grounded and moving forward?

Alpha: Life to me is all about vibration, what you put out is what you get back. I read a lot so it tells you that life is really what you make it and it’s a sequence of choices you make that structure how life will be for you. So, I try to just live a calm fun life with hard work and dedication just so I win at the end.

Hornet: Let us end this interview with a memorable quote from you. How would you describe yourself to the world? Complete this sentence. I am…

Alpha: I am a man who knows nothing and always willing to learn everything. When you act as if you know nothing people will tell you everything. I am also a student at all times which makes me open to everything.
