The DSU Homecoming 2019 concert featuring Da Baby, Megan Thee Stallion and Stunna4 Vegas was all it was hyped to be.

The concert which took place in the Memorial Hall Gym, was open to the public with tickets starting at $45 and was later bumped to $60. It was a sold-out concert! The line started at the Wellness and Recreational Center and was wrapped all the way to the entrance of Tubman Laws Hall.  Doors opened at 7pm and concert started at 8pm.

The music was presented by DJ NIX in the MIX and hosted by DSU’s  Kidd Meech and Semaj Hazzard. The first performer was 23-year-old Stunna 4 Vegas from Salisbury, North Carolina. He is known for his single “Animal” featuring DaBaby. Stunna is signed to Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment. He performed a lengthy set and had the students entertained. He had this amazing dance that caught the students’ eye. He brought on stage Zaire, a student a junior mass communication major and huge fan of Stunna, who sang his first four songs. The students were shocked of his performance, because he is not that big of an artist. “I didn’t expect him to pop out like he did he really showed out” Stated Keyonna Hawkins, a student at DSU.

The star of the night was Megan Thee Stallion, a 24-year-old Houston, Texas artist that is signed to 300 Entertainment. She is the first rapper on the label and is a college student at Texas Southern University and Prairie View A&M University.

Meg was a rapping sensation this summer known for her singles Cash S**t feat. DaBaby, Hot Girl Summer. Her fans, who she calls “Hotties,” lit up the auditorium Wednesday night.

Megan is a true entertainer! She invited six female students to have a friendly dance game to her song “Simon Say.” Students all over DSU were direct messaging her through Instagram to get on stage and let her know that they would be in the building. Student, Mya Dunning says, “my dream came true tonight, all I wanted to do is dance with Meg Thee Stallion and feel her vibe and when ‘Simon Says’ came on, I let all the fear go away. I did it all for her, I’m her biggest fan.”

Megan Stallion also had a couple of  male student’s star struck. Her performance was one for the books! The students begged for an encore.

Da Baby, whose debut single “Suge” was a big hit everywhere, was the final artist headliner of the concert . The 27-year-old hip-hop artist originated from Charlotte, North Carolina. He was on stage with tons of energy and had the crowd in a frenzy of flashing lights and yelling of his song lyrics. His performance had students ready to do a show of their own. He even brought his artist, Stunna 4 Vegas, out again for another round of good entertainment.

Students chased the performers into the parking lot to get final pictures with them. The DJ of the night held the show together, with his music, good vibes, and video presentations. DJ Nix in The Mix made it feel like a party. “This is the best F**cking audience he had out of all the countries I’ve been to Sates and HBCU’s Del State is number one,” he said.

All in all, the concert was great energy and good vibes everywhere.
