1Entity Modeling Team Spring ’19 with the championship trophy from the HBCU Fashion Battle
1Entity Modeling Troupe has concluded it’s fall semester tryouts. Tryouts were held on September 9th-11th at the ECHS Ballroom. Ladies were required to wear 4 inch heels or higher and the gentlemen had to wear a hard bottom shoe or boot.
Taelor Jackson, a freshman that tried out for the team says, “it was fun, I got less nervous as we progressed and everybody had good vibes. I learned I need to make my strides longer, force my crossover, and I even learned some choreography. I was comfortable walking in heels, but dancing in heels is very hard to do.”
In order to make the team, models had to display progression from their walks on the runway, to their choreography.

Precious Igwebuike, the Mrs. 1Entity said “I think tryouts went really well, everyone was confident, tried their best, and was asking questions. Those that tried out actually wanted to be here; they weren’t pressured to come or anything like that.”
Jibril Geoffrey, the Vice President of 1E says “It was very fun, I like to see new faces & I’m glad we’re out with the old and in with the new.”
1Entity Modeling Troupe performed on this campus for Homecoming events, Spring Fling, and even the artist release for Homecoming. 1Entity has traveled around the DMV area for performances and runways.
Last year, 1E participated in the HBCU Fashion Battle hosted by Models Inc. twice. Once in the Fall and won second place and then once again in the Spring and won the first place trophy and a check for $1500.
Congratulations to everyone that made the team. Those looking to join the modeling team are advised to be on the lookout for Spring semester tryouts.
