DSU Alumni President, Cliff Burrell, has invited the lady Hornets basketball team to the Alumni’s Cookout tent for Homecoming.
Mr. Burrell saw the team picture of the girlsat Welcome Back night and contacted Coach Dave Caputo. “Bring the girls by and we will feed them and have a great time,” Mr. Burrell said. The Alumni has 15,000 interested women’s basketball fans now because of the new team and great schedule.
The team has now been invited to at least 5 different Alumni group tents on Homecoming. Everyone loves how Coach Caputo keeps the alumni and fans updated and involved on his great recruits, schedule, and vision.
The team has also been invited to DSU Legends tailgate party on September 21 at homecoming. It will be fun as the girls mingle with the DSU alumni and big boosters and supporters. He ended up signing 10 new players for the new season, including six junior college transfers and two ranked among the top 75 national recruits.
“I love these girls like they are truly my kids. I can’t wait to empty their vessel and give them all the knowledge I have and bring out a level of excitement and intensity they didn’t even know they had. I have that belief and confidence in my abilities to teach and for these young ladies to flourish. I feel like every game on our schedule we should and will win,” says Coach Caputo.
