J.P Morgan Chase and Company held a career day at Delaware State University to give students the opportunity to make connections with leaders and recruiters from their banking firm from 11:00- 4:00 on March 21, 2019. This event took place at the Bank of America building on the DSU campus in Dover.
J.P Morgan is a successful commercial banking, consumer and community banking, corporate function, and technology company not only in American but globalized around the world.
These aspects of the company assist people with a wide range of assets which include:
- Financial Services
- Personal banking
- Credit cards
- Auto Financing
- Investment advice
- Small business loans and payment processing
- Fireside Chat
Notable speakers throughout the fireside chat included:
- Valerie Rainford, Managing Director and Firmwide Head of Advancing Black Leaders
- Bernadette Dorsey, Managing Director and Asset & Wealth Management
These two leaders held the fireside chat from 11:00-11:50 am where they took the time to discuss and answer questions, comments, and concerns from DSU students regarding business.
2. Program Overview & Speed Networking with Current Analysts.
From 12:00-1:30 pm students learned how to gather with a group of people and exchange information through brief interactions with a limited amount of time. The program overview gave insight to developing ways for business men and women to acquire many business contacts the quickest and easiest way possible.
3. Office Hours
For this event students were allotted 15-minute slots for one-on-one time to talk with senior leaders and recruiters for J.P Morgan and Chase Company. During this time, students were given tips on how to build their professionalism and portfolio based on their specific major.
Job and internship applications were offered to participating students in the fields of:
- Branch banking
- Investment banking
- Risk Management
