The Hornets lost their game after gaining the lead with 6 seconds left with a beautiful 3-pointer from Guard Pinky Wiley, but were unable to stop the Eagles from getting down the court and making a layup to win the game, 71-70.
“That first one’s always the hardest one to get,” Coach Caputo said after his win. “Hopefully now we can get into a groove.” His team played today with 8 players on the roster, some playing the entire length of the game.
Men’s coach, Eric Skeeters, was positive after the close loss, saying, “We showed what we’re made of.”
