The Hornets Activities Committee started homecoming week off with Mischief Monday. The event took place in the MLK Lobby from 1- 4pm with music by DJ Breaz, who is a DSU Mass Communications student.
This was a good opportunity for everyone to socialize and enjoy music. However, there was more to do. A photo booth available for everyone to take pictures and capture a moment.
There was also a pie/wing eating contest and the winner received a free homecoming ticket. The winner of the Pie eating contest was Mister Junior and Psychology major, Alimamy Conteh.
A lot of students there were freshmen or transfer students and they were overly excited to experience their first homecoming at Delaware State University.
“I came from an all white school and at Del State it’s different because I can relate more,” said Ebony A.
This was the perfect opportunity for our Hornets to get to know each other and experience our school spirit.
MLK parlor was filled with plenty of students excited to participate in the afternoon festivities.
The social event was a way for students to finally get a break from hard studying, and consistent work leading up to the midterm period.
“ It’s okay, it’s a stress relief,” said Daoni F.
Mischief Monday was filled with high energy, and definitely set the homecoming week off to a great start, as you could tell, many students were enjoying themselves.
