The fall open house welcomed a wave of aspiring hornets. The event started off with an opening program, then followed by an information fair where students could go to different booths for information on different areas of study.
Marching band performance during opening ceremony
This was followed by a performance from the Marching band, as well as the cheerleading team. After the routine, there were speeches from the president as well as Mr. and Mrs. DSU. Students were also able to apply at the MLK and get notified on the spot if they were accepted. The day continued with tours of the school, as well as the opportunity to meet professors from different academic departments.
One of the departments was the Mass Communications Department. Students were able to set in on a panel with different professors from the department. There were also campus tours, which were guided by students from Delaware State University.
Other events that were scheduled were face painting, DJs and also a display of horses. One student who attended the open house said : “I like the vibe of the school, it looks lit.”
The events ended at about 3pm. In all these events were very engaging as well as informative. The students who came out to the open house looked very content with their experience at Delaware State University. Everything seemed to run smoothly and the events were well organized as well as the speeches made during the opening program.
