Homecoming at Delaware State University can be described as a truly exhilarating experience and is one of the best parts of one’s college journey.
Every year DSU alumni, family, friends, current students, and community supporters come together to celebrate our heritage and their hornet pride.
The “homecoming” is a week of exciting events, a huge parade, and an action-packed football game.
The most anticipated event of this year is the annual NPHC “Who Runs the Yard” step show.
This entertaining performance will include all of the Greek organizations on campus.
The competition will take place in Memorial Hall gym and I can assure you that the atmosphere will be filled with tension, laughs, and gossip.
Participating sororities include Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc.
The performing fraternities are Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
Each fraternity and sorority will have a theme that supports their performance and will either attract or confuse the crowd.
At last year’s show, the men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated took home the winning prize of one thousand dollars and a beautiful golden trophy. This continues the fraternity’s winning streak.
The winning sorority was the Devastating Ladies of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, who also went home with a check of one thousand dollars and a polished award.

Corey Miles, a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. stated, “I’m excited about the step show, my brothers and I always give our best. And when we win this year we will be on a five-year winning streak.” As you can see, Mr. Miles has no doubts about the show and is confident that they will bring it all to the floor.

The step show is set to take place on Thursday, October 25th. Judges of the step show have yet to be announced.
The entire university is definitely in for a surprise as we see the best fraternities and sororities go head to head for the winning prize of a check, trophy, and endless bragging rights.
Hornets, I must ask; Do you think the men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. will keep up their winning streak? Or will they be dominated by someone else? Who will be the winning fraternity and sorority? Who really runs the yard?
