With the start of the fall semester came the revival of many student organizations that may have been on hiatus during the summer vacation. One of these revivals happened to be for that of Delaware State University’s chapter of Her Campus.
In case you may not be familiar, Her Campus is a female run and female oriented online magazine written solely by college journalists. Her Campus features articles in the categories of Style, Career, Health, and more, all contributed from the 370+ campus chapters affiliated with it.
One One of the advantages you may come across if you should join Her Campus would be the opportunity to build (and/or strengthen) your online portfolio. This in turn could give your resume the extra pizazz needed to make it stand out better to future employers. What can also be gained from joining Her Campus is the ability to “create long lasting friendships, as well as provide support for others who also wish to go into the journalism field,” as stated by senior Angela T.
An affiliation with Her Campus could also link you to internships during schooling as well as jobs after graduation. “We offer internships and potential job opportunities within the Her Campus corporate office,” stated one member of the org. Additionally, some graduates have even been offered positions from magazines such as Glamour, Vogue, Vanity Fair, and more due to their experience as a writer for Her Campus.
Even if you may have missed Her Campus’ first meet and greet, which took place September 11th, you can still join by DM Her Campus’ Delaware State University chapter on Instagram at hercampus_desu and be in the know about their future meet and greets and bonding activities.
