The History

The Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., “Variety Show and Stroll Competition” began in 2007 as the “brain child” of Marea Monro. Monro became a member of SGRho in 2006 and created the program and awarded trophies to the best Greek Stroll Teams; and it has continued annually ever since on the campus of Delaware State University as a vital tradition.

This is the first year the sorority awarded a trophy and a monetary prize of $300 dollars to the winning Fraternity and Sorority. Through the years, there have been singers, “Spoken Word” artists, dancers,  musicians, and the enthusiastic “Divine Nine” Stroll Teams.

“The Zeta Delta Chapter (Undergraduates) and Delta Tau Sigma Chapter (Alumni) thanks the Office of Student Leadership and Activities, Student Affairs Division, for allowing our sorority to continue to have this event” says, the Advisor of the Zeta Delta Chapter.
