The Delaware State University Ecumenical Committee will kick-off its Scholarship Sunday campaign in Kent County with the DSU Gospel Choir in concert at 4p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at Mt. Enon Baptist Church, 600 N. Church Ave., Milford, 19963, where Rev. Dr. Patricia Green is the pastor.
In a press release by Carlos Holmes, DSU’s Director of News Services, The Gospel Choir concert will be first of a series of Scholarship Sunday service held through May 13 to help students.
Interim DSU President, Dr. Wilma Mishoe, will attend the kickoff and extend greetings on behalf of the University. While there is no charge for admission, there will be a free will offering to kick off the Scholarship campaign.
Scholarship Sunday is an annual event providing the faith-based community an
opportunity to help raise money in support of scholarships for DSU students in need. This year, each church throughout the state of Delaware is being asked to designate one day of worship as Scholarship Sunday between March 1 and May 13.
Other Scholarship Sunday events are being planned for the campaign period in all three Delaware counties.
