Due to inclement weather and lack of resources lately, there are citizens in need of socks to stay warm.

Anyone able to donate can drop their pair(s) of socks off inside of the donation boxes located in Evers and Jenkins Residence Hall until February 16th. The socks do not need to be expensive, any pair in good condition is welcome.

The compassion and initiative shown by the students sets a great example for young people in the community. They encourage all to participate so that their hopes of making an impact will be fulfilled. These organizations excel at doing positive things for the City of Dover.

This is the first Sock Drive that these student groups have constructed. However, each of them have taken donations and/or supplies to support other causes. Whether it has been people or other schools in need, or to help those in drastic situations recover, the students in these organizations have been kind and helpful.

After the drive is over, socks will be brought over to The Shepard’s Place homeless shelter. There, pairs will be distributed to anyone who needs them. Dover will strive as long as there are people with other’s best interests at heart residing in the city.
