Serena Williams brought her baby girl, Alexia Olympia Ohanian Jr., into the world September 1, 2017. Williams, who was recently engaged to Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian, shared their first pictures of the baby with the world on Sept. 13 2017 via Williams’s story on Instagram.
Williams is known globally as being the most dominating and prevailing force in professional tennis. She has been awarded numerous Grand Slams, 4 Gold Olympic medals, along with a host of other awards and accomplishments, one being named No. 1 in singles on eight occasions, ranked by Women’s Tennis Association, from 2002 to 2017.
Alexis Olympia already has athletic validity to her name right now, being that her mother recently played while pregnant with her and won the Australian open back in January of this year. Williams had to withdraw from the recently concluded US open because of her pregnancy.
Williams’s greatness and excellence was picked up at this year’s Open by Sloane Stephens, a young African American woman, who won her first grand slam title against veteran grand slam competitor Madison Keys on Sept. 9.
The couple laid low after Williams accidentally announced the pregnancy in April of 2017. The baby is healthy, although in one of her videos Williams stated that they were leaving the hospital with the baby after “six, seven days,” sharing, “It’s been a long time, but we had a lot of complications, but look who we got — we got a baby girl!”
After all of the uproar of Williams’s pregnancy she noted that she will be back to dominate the world of women’s tennis in 2018.
