“It was exciting; all the work we all have been putting in and seeing that I could [do] that for my team was great…” said Sua-Godinet about his first collegiate touchdown reception.
“Fatu is a really good player and he’s developing as a receiver in our system,” said Head Coach Kenny Carter. “…he’s part of the many wide receivers we have that I cannot wait to see fully develop.”
Sua-Godinet’s touchdown catch came late in the second quarter to tie the game at 14 going into halftime.
“Fatu studies the game well, he was a quarterback and receiver in high school… you see how the QB traits help him out there as a receiver,” Carter continued.
Fatu is currently second on the team with 218 receiving yards and third on the team with 14 receptions through the first six games.
Sua-Godinet was a three sport athlete at high school in Hawaii, participating in basketball, football, and track & field.
“Only big difference up here [in Delaware] than home is that it’s a lot colder,” said the freshman wideout.
“The coaches do their job with coming up with a game plan we just have to go out there and execute,” he said.
The Hornets’ next game will be on Saturday, October 22 at South Carolina State University at 1:30 PM.
