April 21st was a sad day for the world after musical genius Prince passed away. Prince apparently died from an accidental overdose of pain killers. His music was known across the world. He has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time. He won seven Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and an Academy Award for his film Purple Rain.
Jerron Searles who is a senior at Delaware State said,
“It’s sad how he passed away all of a sudden. My parents were big fans of his music back in the 80’s and I know they were devastated when we all found out of his passing.”
Many people didn’t realize how much of a musical genius Prince was. Prince produced, arranged, composed and played all 27 instruments on the recording.
Keon Williams who is a recording artist said,
“Prince was a major inspiration to every artist in the nation. When I found out of his passing it hit me pretty hard knowing that you rarely see true musicians anymore. His talent and true love for music affected the way people viewed music and overall changed it for the better.”
Prince’s music was known to the world, people valued his music. We truly know how it feels when doves cry.
