New Banner Web App: Degree Works

by: Timothy Patterson

Degree Works, launched in August 2015, is a new addition to the http://www.my.desu.edu site. It is a new site that allows students to track their progress academically from freshmen year all the way toward graduation.

Students can see exactly what classes they need to take and how far they have gone in their curriculum.

It was created and maintained by Student Records, located in the Clairbourne D. Smith Administration Building.

Degree Works is an innovative and simple tool that is helpful to the student body.

Many students rely solely on their Advisement Department for their academic progress. Now with Degree Works, they can review their matriculation, calculate their GPA, find out what other classes they need to take and more.

Here’s how to get to the Degree Works tab:

1) Log into your Banner Self Service account on my.desu.edu. Enter your D100 number and PIN number to log on.

2) After logging on, you will be on the Main Menu page. Right above the “Search” engine, there will be four tabs titled: Personal Information, Student Services, Financial Aid, and General Menu.

Click on the tab labeled “Student Services”

3) The new page will be called Student Services & Financial Aid. Click on the first link on the list, titled “Degree Works.”

4) After reaching the Degree Works home page, press the blue-white button that says “Degree Works.” This will open a new tab, which is the Degree Works page.
