On the first Tuesday back from break, Delaware State’s Campus Activity Board continued the Welcome Back Week tradition with a Battle of the Classes.
Competition was in the air as students gathered into the Wellness and Recreation Center for some healthy fun to take the steam off of the stress of starting new classes, registration and the various other tasks that come with starting a new semester.
Delaware State’s own DJ Crank provided the crowd with music to kick off the night while C.A.B treasurer RJ Adam zealously hosted the events.
“It’s good to meet new people. They’re fun, ice breakers, something to do on campus.” said Sophomore Sydney Roberson when asked about the impact of events such as this on campus.
Relay racing brought volunteers from all classifications to the floor, literally, as they tag teamed in the scooter races.
The races began with each student riding a scooter while being pushed by another student and ended with belly down on the scooters, crawling to victory.
This was followed by the class versus class dodge ball games.
First to go were the freshmen up against the juniors which led to an exciting head-to-head ending with a win for the freshmen.
Next up were the sophomores and the Seniors re-sulting in a well-earned victory for the upperclass-men.
