With the season approaching, Coach Tamika Louis has three main goals for this year’s team.
First, learn to play with a purpose, become a better offensive team transitioning wise and finish in the top half of the conference.
The biggest challenge for this year’s team is getting all the players on the same page.
There are a lot of new faces this year with seven new players and a handful of freshmen that are expected to play some big minutes.
The team is fairly small which will also be a challenge this year because Coach Louis likes to run her offense in the low post.
However, with three of her low post players out this year, Coach Louis has set out to improve their transition game.
The success of this years women’s basketball team will have a lot to do with junior forward Tierra Hawking’s, the teams leading scorer averaging 17 points per game and also leading the team on the boards at seven rebounds a game.
Coach Louis also has high hopes for freshmen guard Raven Bankston, she says with her talent and scoring ability Raven could be freshmen of the year.
