For so many years cheerleaders have fought to get cheerleading recognized as being a sport.

According to NCAA, cheerleading is not considered a sport at most universities.

If you tell a cheerleader that cheerleading isn’t a sport, then more than likely you’ve just started an argument.

A lot of people have no idea that it consists of more than just sideline cheerleading.

Cheerleaders do just as much as any sport, but still never get recognized for what they do and the hard work they put in.

NCAA has stated that competitive cheerleading has not done enough to be considered a sport.

At Delaware State, the cheer team’s primary focus is to cheer on our athletic teams and raise the level of fan support.

In order for something to be considered a sport competition must be the number one goal.

Though cheerleading isn’t considered a sport there is never a day that goes by where cheerleaders don’t give 100% during practices, performances, and during games.

These cheerleaders have a job to do and that is to merely go out and have fun.
